I was awarded the Governor General’s Silver Medal at Waterloo and people on Reddit doxxed me for it. On this list, I am the second woman who was awarded the medal, 19 years after Dr. Karen Yeats ‘03, who became a professor at Waterloo and whom I met after convocation. (I could not find lists of medal recipients before 1990)

I didn’t get a dime of scholarship because of this though, so all you Waterloo people don’t try to squeeze out the last couple of percents in your grade. Its worth almost nothing. Even if you want to go into grad school more research is always better.

Obtaining this medal involved meticulous planning of the course structure and avoidance of difficult courses. I have to give up on taking language courses due to this. Whether this is a worthwhile tradeoff is dependent on the individual.

The medal was shipped out in Feb. 2023 due to production delays.

Along with the medal I was presented with a certificate at the convocation.
